Teach medicine in Tamil, Amit Shah urges TN govt
Union home minister Amit Shah urged the Tamil Nadu government on Saturday to introduce Tamil as the medium of instruction for medical and other technical courses, saying it would help students understand their lessons better. Several states had already moved to offer medical and technical education in their native languages and Tamil Nadu should follow suit, Shah said. This would also help students pursue research in Tamil.

'Unabated': Army chief on Chinese infra buildup along LAC
The situation in eastern Ladakh is stable but unpredictable, Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande said on Saturday. "In a larger context, we need to very carefully calibrate our actions on LAC to be able to safeguard our interests and sensitivities. As far as PLA's force levels are concerned, there has been no significant reduction," the Army chief said while addressing an event. Earlier today, Nalini Sriharan was taken for her routine signature procedure at Katpadi Police station. Nalini Sriharan is among the seven persons accused of assassinating Rajiv Gandhi. This comes a day after the Supreme Court set free Nalini Sriharan, R P Ravichandran and four others serving life sentences in the assassination case.
